I actually have a question. Being that my tank has lots of snails that came with my moss ball lol Im wondering If I was to put them in my my spare 5 gallon tank do I need a filter for them, cycled water and so on?

what kind of snails? ramshorns/pond? If they are the common species I mentioned, they do not need filtration. I have them thriving in a vase of java moss I keep in my window sill. I just change out some water from the vase from time to time.

:iagree: If they are common/pest snails, then no. A w/c will take care of it. If they're apple snails, unlikely since they were hitchhikers I would recommend heavy filtration.

Great thanks for the tips..
