Hi folks.

I have a 15 gallon tank, and added live plants a few months ago. I now have a lot of snails, and would like to try adding some snail-eating fish. From what I have read, the usual fish you would use, clown and yo yo loaches, will suffer in my small tank.

Are there any good snail-eating fish that will fit in? I have community fish in the tank, nothing aggressive as far as I know, and don't want to add aggressive fish into the mix.

thank you,
Andrew

Could you get an assassin snail?

A huge snail population is usually a sign that you are overfeeding. Cutting down on food may help. Another thing that will help is to blanch a lettuce leaf, put something a bit heavy on it to weigh it down, put it in a shallow bowl/plate, and stick the whole thing on the bottom of the tank at night. In the morning, the lettuce leaf will be covered with snails - you take the plate out and throw away the leaf.

Since I joined yesterday, and have 5 more posts than you, please allow me to welcome you to the forum. :)

you don't need a new fish, just crush the snails in between your fingers and put it in the water , the other fish will eat it

Assassins are a good choice and fun to watch.

I have a ramshorn in my 15g and I stuck a breeder trap in there and everytime I see one, I stick it in there. Right now I would have to say I have 30 in there. Once I have most of them I will be taking them to the LFS for some credit.

I think khuli loaches maybe? But I'm not sure about tank size for them

Another vote for Assassin Snails coupled with improved maintenance/manual removal.
