What kind of fish will eat small snails. I think I got them in my tanks from some plants. Any and all advice is appreciated.

Ha! I thought you had a snail that ate fish!

I like some snails in a tank to keep it clean, so if you don't have very many they aren't a problem, yet. If they get out of control, that means there is extra food for them to eat.

I'm not sure about fish that will eat them. I have had some that would, but not as a general species. You can always manually remove them or put in lettuce and remove it the next day when it's covered in snails.

Thanx!

OK, this is kinda gross but if they are the real tiny snails that become a "pest" then here is what we do at work.... When they are on the side on the glass we just squish them and let them fall in the tank and all of the fish will enjoy the treat. Like I said, not exactly appealing but it works!!

Good Luck.

Sounds like a job for "Super Thumb"

Thanks!

I've read that rams love to munch on snails, as well as several others. And the German Blue Rams are very pretty fish.

I have often looked longingly at them in the LFS.

Kuhli Loaches & Clown Loaches will both eat snails, as will many cichlids -- Severums, Oscars, RD's, etc. Personally, I like having snails, but my current residents eat them.

Thanks to all. :dance

Thanks to all. I've decided to live with them for a while and wait to see if they become a problem.
