I have some mystery snail eggs I am trying to hatch out.
I see some baby snails in the tank that may or may not be mystery snails. They are still to small to really get a good look at. There are also some pink ramshorn snails in the same tank, but one of the snails is large enough that I fell pretty sure its a mystery snail.
One of the clutshes is about 5 weeks old. I see hollow spots on the top of it, but never seen any snails leaving it.
My question is what does a clutch look like after the snails come out?
How can you tell that clutch is no longer good?

Viable clutches usually hatch with 14 days. If it has been 5 weeks, I would say you can remove them and discard. I would crush them just to make sure. A clutch that has hatched out is basically hollow and dry. If you crush the clutch and it is gooey, crumble it into your tank as there may still be baby snails in it. Hope this helps.

Thanks!
It is still gooey inside, so I will try to crumble it in the tank and see what happens.
