A short clip of a snail egg i scooped out of my tank. It actually creeps around inside the egg shell. You can also see something which i assume is the heart near the center of the creature.

It is encoded with divx 6. you will need to install the codec (free download) or install vlc(an all in one viewer) to view it.

hmm running out of things to look at, any ideas :)

edit-------------

sorry the file is 403kb. or about a minute over dialup ..

K that is the wierdest thing i have ever seen!

COOL! Its neat! What did you use to record that clip? :dive2:

my new toy. motic ds-300 digital microscope. Other than annoying thing where about 80% of the time when i try a still capture i get a white picture instead, im pretty happy with it. working with techs to fix that issue.

It records an uncompressed avi (about 10-20mb per second!!!) .. i recompressed it to divx with the divx create bundle.

I have some pictures of ostracods in another post.

I am also going to take some pictures of some worms living in my snail tank also, expect them soon :)

Awesome!! I like that. Maybe someday when I actually have a job, I can get a toy like that! I'm a biology major and always can bring stuff from here to school and use their toys :thm:

I like that toy! I want one! How did you get planaria worms?
:joe:

its one of those things you notice when they get overpopluated (ie over feeding) but most tanks have them. I was looking very closely at my snail breeding tank looking for baby snails and noticed the worms and little swimming bugs (ostracods)

on second thought im not 100% those are planaria unless there are several types. because i cannot find a picture that seems to match them. the planaria also appear to be much larger. that video was at 20x life size is about the size of a small piece of thread. maybe 1/16" long total. all the pics online show them to be upwards of an inch long and large and flat.

Any ideas what those are?

I'm not sure. I wasn't sure that it was a Planaria either. It must be something else. I'm looking online too :read:

EDIT: Hey! I have an idea, I could find a professor at my University that I know of that might know what it is. Would have to wait until Monday. Until then, hopefully there will be somebody who knows what it is. :look:
