Snail free plants

The ones at my PetSmart had snails. I could see them on the plants and in the water in the store. I'm pretty sure that's the reason I have snails in my tank, but the plants weren't a bad price and I couldn't ever have enough plants. Anyway, as long as I don't overfeed, the snails aren't a big problem. They actually help clean up the dead plant matter.
I bought 3-4 plants from petsmart and had no snails. If you definitly don't want snails then you should quarantine or soak the plants to prevent it. Regardless of what a store claims, it's your responisblity to keep your tank in the condition you want it.

lol @ snail free...was this a specific store that made this claim or is it on the website? We definitely have snails in our store, they drive me crazy. We even tried moving all of our mystery snails to the plant tank to treat the fish tank for snails and then moved them back and the little buggers are still there. If you search the forum theres a way to clean plants, I'd rely on that.
I used the alum treatment, like 1 tbsp per gallon. I let it sit for 2 hours and 1.5 baby snails survived. I say 1.5 because 1 was dead but seemed to die after I added the plant. I suggest letting it sit longer than 2 hours for complete snail control.
well some have them in packages that say snail free others have a tank with plants in there. the packages that say snail free i havent seen any snail on them yet. i dont look at them much. i dont go there much but like Tycoon said many if not most are not aquatic.
