:confused:I am not a snail afficiendo, therefore I have not a clue regarding snail conjugal visits. However, currently in my grandaughters 50 gallon tank she has a few snails,, gold something.... they live happily with Oscar (aka Wimpy) 10 female guppies ( they killed off the males) and a pleco. Since the tanks a few months ago started developing a little algae we thought perhaps a few snails would asist in the cleaning...so after hugging them the 3 yr old grandaughter put them in the tank....
and they are quite happy.
however, it appears that once a week they seem to become umm joined together...should we just draw the shades and rent a motel room... would separating them be coitus interruptus....or is this accidental?

And assuming this is now a very *cough cough* active tank* how long before the grandchild has more snails? and now what?

Anyone want a pregnant snail? and if so how do I know whom is whom?:help:

LOL. You should probably lower the water an inch or two because the snails will lay their egg clutches above the waterline and might try to leaave the tank if they can't find the space. All you have to do is take the clutches and freeze them and you won't have baby snails. Birth control is very easy with these snails.
Here is a great link

Well, that is so they won't develop or hatch. You can have 100 or more babies from one clutch! If you just throw them away they might hatch and not have any water and starve to death.

After you freeze them you can throw them away. Mine lay 5-7 clutches a week, this quickly turns into THOUSANDS of snails if you don't selectively remove teh eggs.
