Okay so my snails have some bad erosion and I'm looking for the best way to battle it. Calcium is my guess. I am wondering what would be the best/quickest way to get calcium to them, and possible changes that need to be made to what I'm doing to prevent it from getting worse.

And i've read about patching their shell. How would I go about doing this, and when would it be needed?

Just looking at all angles of the problem.

Thx

First check the general hardness of the water. If it is too low I would put the snails in a temporary tank for a while and add some kind of calcium source like crushed cuttlebone to the water. When I kept garden snails (land snails), they enjoyed eating the cuttlebone. If you can get your (presumably aquatic) snail to eat the cuttlebone, that should work as well. Some people use eggshells instead of the cuttlebone, but it doesn't work as well. The snails don't like to eat it as much and it is harder to grind, although the calcium content is high. Be careful about adding these things to your fish tank though as they will mess with your water parameters.

snail jello made with powdered calcium, and liquid calcium added to water,.. and depending on you ph add a buffer,..
