I was looking at images of plants, and I like the anubias, the java fern, and also something called anarchis... is it a good plant for a noob like me?

there was also some kind of floating plant that was really frilly, lacy, like a moss or something, do you know what I mean? How would it be in my tank?
I was, thanks for asking. recently had a significant set back which will require more surgery. I am functional for the most part, lol.
where do you guys get the little smiley icons to put on your posts... I don't see them on my message window... just "bold, italics, colors, insert link", etc.
not sure which floating plant you mean, but everything else you have mentioned would work out just fine for you.

Hmmm...can't think of any floating plants that fit that description. Can you post this pic?

Unfortunately I have a really nasty case of Green Dust Algae that hopefully is on it's last leg...I'm crossing my fingers.
msjinkzd, I hope you're knee problems get resolved and you're better soon. I have a friend that had a total knee replacement and he's doing well. Knee troubles can be very painful.

I know you're an invert expert so I was hoping you could help with this.
I ran out and got an anacharis from the lfs, and put it in my tank, but I found a small snail, the kind with the long spiral shell, in the water the plant was in.
Someone at work told me they have a 90 gallon and have 2 goldfish among the occupants, to eat the snails that you get with live plants.
Am I going to be overrun with snails now? The girl at work told me there are microscopic snails, with the plants.
The lady at the lfs said she didn't have snails with her plants, but I found one tiny tiny one after I had put them in the tank.
Is my tank going to be ok?
