Please everyone make sure your snails can't get stuck between the heater and something else. I feel so freaking bad right now. Because I saw the snails, 3 of them, by the heater in the corner 3 days ago. No big deal, they always are around there, but this morning they were all still there. And I saw they were all stuck there, one on top of the other in the corner, one side is the intake tube, the other the heater. Their foot was on the heater. for 3 days. I don't want to think about it.

Amazingly, they are alive and even though they are sticking out, their eyes and those long things are moving. I read on the forums here to put in a shallow dish with prime and water, so I did that. I moved them to my shrimp tank and put food next to them.

they look terrible, I'm not going to post a picture unless needs to see them to offer any help. This was a horrible way to learn to make sure the snails can't get stuck anywhere in the tank. I'm going to order a heater guard. Is there anything I can do for them? Anything?

Just give them lots of nice clean water and time to heal. I once lost a snail to an uncovered intake (the foot got sucked up). You live and learn. Hope they recover for you. If you see that they are doing poorly, post an update to see if we can offer more advice.

Well, the 2 yellow ones died, the black one is fine, though his shell is a bit beat up. Whew, they don't smell good dead, do they? I didn't want ot just throw them away so I tossed them in the woods for some critter to get, and within 5 seconds of me putting them on the ground a mockingbird came and got them. Recycling!
