snails

I thought most snails were Asexual?

Yeah you'll probably have a population problem with them.

You'll either need something that eats snails, or use some snail-killing chemicals if they start being a problem. although they keep the tank nice and clean of algea!

Snail populations are food dependant. the only time a population explosion happens is when the tank is not well maintained or overfed or both.

This link may help some.

If snail eating fish fit your planned stocking scheme great, if they don't then buying them for the sole purpose of removing snails is not usually a good idea.

What shape is the shell? Is it an elongated cone, or is it like a cinnimon bun?

Hey, I have these two plants in my tank. Can anyone tell me what they are? They're green.

I wouldn't use a chemical - I had a problem in my 30g - more water changes and to remove the last few piece of cucmber ouner a plate - get there before lights come on in the morning and remove them - euthanise in yr prefered way.
Snails like dirty conditions so if you have a population explosion it's a good sign of a bigger problem
