snake regurgitates whole hippo (you gotta see this!!!)

i think the snake would have been fine if those morons hadn't kept poking at it. it probably would have just crawled into a hole somewhere and digested its meal.

its actually possible to kill a snake like that. because they are cold blooded, it takes a lot of energy for them to catch and eat and digest their food. those idiots basically made the snake waste all that energy not only catching and eating its meal, but then regurgitating it as well. it would then have to go find something else to eat, which requires more energy. if the snake gets too low on energy it can starve to death.

I was thinking the same thing, RC... I thought the videa was pretty sick in the way that the snake was tormented in losing his meal.

i second that... there are is need for doing that....

Havent watched the video, dont intend to, poor snake. But, I just saw on TV (national geographic channel??) a thing about a 12+ foot snake that ate a 6 foot gator whose tail end poked through the snakes body whilst being digested. Killled the snake of course, but wow. The lower jaw of a snake is so incredibly adapted!!!

I was wondering if that meal would have killed the snake like the alligator did, I saw that same special....

Regurgitation is both a defense mechanism that allows the snake to get away quicker (the regurgitated food can even help distract a predator) and a sign of stress or sickness. Either way it is a dangerous time for a snake and those idiots poking at it should be poked till they puke…the snake would have been fine without their interference.

oops.... sorry... I didn't want to make this into a debate, it just looked odd, so I though it would be neat... actually, you're right. I don't think they should have been poking at it.... and most likely it was an african rock python, which are native to africa, and can get upwards of 12-14 feet long.
