Maybe some of you already know this, but my tank is getting overcrowded!

I now have 1 angelfish(one died! but he didnt look to healthy to begin with...:(), 1 rosy barb (but I am taking him back to the pet store, he is vicious.) 2 gourami's, bought from walmart. Didnt say if they were dwarf or not. And 1 pleco and a gold mystery snail.

All in a 10 gallon tank.

And well, yea i know its overcrowded. But since I am low on money (and the 2 angels were X-mas presents) I cant afford to upgrade. I was going for a 20 gallon, either buying one or having my dad build me one. He refused :(

So now, my plan is to buy another 10 gallon tank. Move the angel, and either the snail or pleco into that tank, and leave the 2 gourami's in the old one. What do you think? Would it be big enough?

And if it helps, my angel fish is a silver one.. (I dont really know if there is a color//size ratio, but if it helps....)


Ps- sorry that this post seems very rushed, I am kinda hurrying!
 
well angels do need more room, if you really need to you could buy a large rubbermaid for them and cut holes in the top to put the filter in and everything and put a ceramic plate for a heater, it would be cheep and kinda ugly but better then the ten gallon
 
A healthy full grown angel should be as large or larger than the palm of an adults hand. That is obviously way too small for a 10G tank. I don't even want to start with how large the pleco will get, and if you have 2 male gourami's you might start running into the problem of fighting. I'm sorry you are in the situation you are, but your best bet is to take the angels, barb, and pleco back to the store, presents or not. You are doing them a great disservice to keep them in a tank that small. I would them separate the gouramis. Your mystery snail, I am assuming it is a brig, will do better if you feed him some fresh veggies, such as zucchini and cucumber as well. Good luck! I hope you do the right thing.

The only fish I ever really wanted were the angels, but 20+ gallons for one fish is just to much. The snail, he's a happy little fella. He always is on the go. What could be the problem there?

I have the money to go buy a start kit, a 29 gallon aquarium. It was like, 90 something at walmart. I thought that was a really good deal. I might buy it, but then again, for only one fish????
 
You could put the angels in the 29G although I would still say this is pretty small for a full grown angel. If your snail is always on the go, that means he is always looking for food. I'm not saying you HAVE to feed them veggies, they just do better if you do.

You can add more fish. :)

The angel is going to be stunted in the 10g and will die prematurely. :( Go for the 29g! The fish will live a much happier life.

I hope so! I hope you all know that I mean well for these fish, Im really not the kind who goes out to the store and picks the cutest fish possible, then have them die the next day. Im really not. But, this is just interesting to me and I hope you all know I have researched my BUTT off!! I never though it'd be this hard to keep a few fish!

Someone working at walmart told me angelfish are best left on their own.(i seriously dont trust walmart staff, they've NOT been decent to me in the past...)If he was right, what could I combine mine with in a 29 gallon tank? Or, just another angel? ...

Oh. I uploaded some pictures, if it helps determine the size ratio for now. How long do you think I have? I hope you can see the fish.

They will do fine as a pair. I don't think you will have any problems. Angels that have grown up alone, do better alone, but for juveniles, you should be just fine. If you start having problems, you can always get rid of one later.
