So...what does one do in San Diego anyway?

I'm going to be in SD for about 5 or 6 days in the beginning of December, and I figured there might be some locals on here. What cool little places are in/around SD? Food/drinks? Beach? Activities?

Coronado Island, just to check it out, plus the beach. The zoo is first class. Balboa park has several museums, like automotive, aerospace, and a neat model RR setup. Drive up to La Jolla to see the seals. Take a harbor tour too. You can also spend a few minutes watching the planes landing at the airport. When you see them come over the hill and drop down to the runway, you'll understand why I said to watch!
