Ive been away from the hobby for about 15 years. I seem to remember the forums being much more active back in the early 2000's than they are now. And not just that, I was searching for fish care sheets and pretty much all you get now are very "cookie cutter" articles compared to the highly specific information that was readily available back then.

Facebopok and Youtube for the most part.

Fishbase is still around as a source of good information - fishbase.org
as is seriously fish - https://seriouslyfish.com

You're going to need to refresh our memories...I've been here on AC a long time...as have some of us. So what's your question? We'll try to help...the "care sheets" may be old..as I may be ;)...but welcome back! No, not the same forum as back in the "olden days" but in 15 years changes happen...Post in general topics for more responses or a more specific area...I rarely make it all the way down here, lol.

Social media where good information goes to die and misinformation runs rampant caused the demise of many forums. The info on Seriously Fish is good, the forums are not active at all.

These days the best forums for fish information are the ones which focus on much more specific types of fish. Catfish sites, goldfish sites, discus, cichlid sites etc. I used to frequent a lot of forums in years past. Many of them are long gone. The two most active general fish sites I still see thriving are MFK and TFF. This site has declined in activity a lot from its heydays.

We get this question fairly often. Often enough it almost needs it's own section. I see it in other unrelated forums as well. One of which I've been an active member since 2002.

My question is, would you expect to pop back into any place after 15yrs and expect to see it exactly as you left it?

I went to discord it can be iffy like some people are smart others are just brain dead but there’s a decently large community of ~1000 people

I should have thought of this when I posted before.

The person who currently owns this site also owns a site linked at the top of most forum pages here. Click on MFK FORUMS on the top of any forum page here and you will be sent there. It is way more active than here. Same owner somewhat similar topics, but different activity levels.

As far as I remember MFK has been around almost as long as AC (could be as long or longer?). But I cannot confirm this. I joined here in Apr. 02 and there in Oct. 08 I believe.

However, the fact that this site is still moderately well used on a regular basis is a tribute to its longevity in the age of social media.
