a few questions

1) i have a butterfly fish that has been doing good (nock on wood), he loves the food i feed my tank (a mix of grasshooper, regular flake, vegie flake, bloodworm, catfish wafers, baby river shrimp (i know to mix to provide for everything), the only problime with him is the blind cave fish that thinks that anything in the butterflys mouth should be taken (somtimes)
everything i have read says they are a fish that dont last long- is this true?

2) ausi rainbows- how many is the best group, i have 2 that dont get along with each other or my killis

3)for a vegitarian fish my silver dollors seem anything but, they go after the shrimp, and the catfish wafers (carry them in their mouth till the dissolve) and they are somewhat timid, but very spunky, is this normal

4)golden panchex killies- mine are rainbow- gold, and one is mainly green, the 3rd is a mix, do the panchex killies have many sub species? is my above mix of food good for them? them seem fine, but seem to like to guld food sometimes bigger then they should

5) catfish- i got 3 syno negi. upside down catfish, that always have fat bellys (their not sick/ bloated fat, just like they constantly eat)- is 3 a good number, and do they eat aligee like some say they do?
1 got 1 featherfin syno- i bought him at the size of 1 inch, in one month hes almost hit 5 inches, is this normal of the synos? how big will he get ive herd from 8- 12 inches? when i have to trade him in for something smaller what are good syno's besides the usd's? (the local pet store, or may give him to my boss from work who has a 150 gallon tank)

i got a common placo for alegee control im not relying on the usd's for control

1) Do you mean Pantodon buchholzi?? I had one for years. I fed it crickets, meal worms, dried fruit flys, ect. I fed it by hand with tweezers.
2) Rainbows do better in larger gruops, At least 6, 10 is better.
3) SD are not 100% vegitarians. The do love plants, and veggys, but will eat anything.
4) I have never kept Killies.
5) Which Syno is the threadfin?? The Synodontis eupterus?? I have not seen one grow more then 6+ inches. A "Guy" friend of mine has a school in his 250gal. I do not think any of the Synos are algae eatters. Petricola is a smaller Syno.
