Hello everybody, got myself a pair of blackghost (apteronotus albifrons), about 2inches in size. i know these are potentially large fish, and i can accomodate them without much problem. i just want to know what kind of environment and food they prefer.

Probably live food, but most fish can be weened onto dry food

As adults they will fight, I would think once they get into the 4'' range you will not be able to house them in the same tanks.

Hiding places. Don't go for the ghost transparent tube, the fish will be much happier and less stressed with DARK hiding places.

They need clean water, so keep up with your water changes.

Mine would eat freeze-dried tubifex worm cubes, and frozen bloodworms in addition to live earthworms and bits of shrimps or beef from the kitchen...
