What kind of sword is this? and what are the green and white plants next to it?

http://profile.imageshack.us/user/errors/images/detail/300/101_0108.jpg

Is this a Crypt?

http://profile.imageshack.us/user/errors/images/detail/301/101_0061.jpg and what is this? I bought this driftwood because of the covering, it's spreading and I liek it.

Just need names so I can do some more research. I think I know what my other plants are..

I don't recognize the sword, but the green and white plant next to it kinda reminds me of a terrestrial spider plant. Second pick does look like a crypt, but I doesn't look to be doing to well atm. How long have you had it and how much lighting are you hitting it with? Last shot looks like some sort of moss, but I don't think its java moss. It might be java moss though and just hasn't really grown in yet.

The moss definitely isn't java moss, it's a much softer, finer moss.

Sorry about the pics, I have a terrible time trying to take pictures of my aquarium.

It's towards the front of my tank and most of my lighting is towards the back, it's not getting a lot but it's getting more than it should be. The same goes for my Java Fern. I'm having trouble with my plants in general at the moment and trying to work it out slowly with different methods. All of my plants are poor at the moment :\

It didn't look a whole lot better when I got it, I've had it for about 2 weeks now? the petstore (petsmart) has all of their plants under a 400W MH in a shallow tank, they were getting quite a bit of light. I have a total of 3WPG or 14000+ lumens but it's all under a single 'dual bulb' 48'' strip light, probably the equivilent of having 2WPG (at most) towards the front. I should probably put the Sword close to where the Crypt is now to block some of the light.

One more thing, what's this?

http://profile.imageshack.us/user/errors/images/detail/300/101_0114.jpg

heh, ok.. it's the small plant towards the right of the aquarium, a molly is just starting to pass in front of it.. to the left of the right-most opening in the rock? When I bought the Crypt the guy also threw this one in.. it's more green (a bright green), similer in size but the leaves are a more rounded, oval shape..

Completely forgot to ask about that little thing.

Thanks :D

the only one i know for sure is the green and white one, thats sweet flag (acorus) and are grown at waters edge, not a true aquatic plant. will live in the water submerged for a while, but the leaves need to come out for some air to live. the sword plant, dunno if its a true sword or a peace lily which you will see commonly sold as amazon swords. if the tag said spathiphyllum, its a peace lily and won't live long underwater. i used to work at petsmart a few years ago and would get both the true and the not true swords.

It was listed as "assorted sword". I'd be so happy if it wasn't a true aquatic plant. I've bought a dozen of these things (favorite looking of the swords, I love the super thick leaves, heh) and they NEVER survive long for me.. it's really starting to get on my nerves and it usually freaks me out and makes me think there is something seriously wrong with my aquarium.

I naturally assumed all swords were easy to grow, after finding out there are a good number of swords that aren't I wanted to find out which this was.

Becuase, you know, when you have an 'easy to grow', 'good for beginners' plant in an aquarium that cannot survive, you have to be doing *something* wrong.

The green and white one is starting to brown at the tips, I'll just go ahead and take it out. It doesn't look that great with my other plants anyways.

Oh, are crypts suppose to be red or green? Just remembered I had two of them, one was stuck in the back sorta out of the way (forgot about it after I planted it). It's a bright green. the one out in the open is all redish/brown.

Which is healthier?

The green and white one will rot, so take that out for sure.
The sword <if it is one> is too unhealthy to really ID. The moss looks like taiwan moss with problems and the crypt...I would leave it completely alone and not move it for a month for new growth to see what it truly is, because again, it is lacking something and hard to ID.

there are also bronze crypts..I have some and they look similar..they do seem to be slow growers compared to the greens I have.

It could be crypt wentdii bronze or red....too soon to tell.

I'm taking some more pictures right now

edit: .. I pulled the sword, the root system was pitiful.. the white and green grass stuff is in my plant trimming tank (10g I use to throw plant trimmings in.. I dunno why, I'm just lazy) and the 'sword' is sitting in my kitchen counter.

edit2: Here a quite a few more pictures.

I've noticed the moss looks bad when not under aquarium lighting, look at the tank shot to see how the colors are.

1. http://img181.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1010146as4.jpg - better tank shot
2. http://img181.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1010120nl7.jpg - better sword shot
3. http://img181.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1010129we7.jpg - Top down sword shot
4. http://img181.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1010117js8.jpg - better moss shot.. and yeah, this stuff isn't looking its greatest right now, the stuff on my long piece of driftwood is starting to brown. I really, really need my Flourish Excel to get rid of this hair algae (starting on my driftwood, see it?) , I know for a fact that's the problem.. I'm under the impression that the Excel may choke out the moss like it will algae :( Oh well

and for no reason
5. http://img181.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1010125gv7.jpg picture of my pitiful looking ludwiga and hornwort. The hornwort is growing at least
