I am interested in spawing my Tiger Barbs. They are right now kept in a community tank with a pH of 7.0 in moderately hard water. I have a RO/DI unit to "design" whatever water conditions I need and a spare 10 gallon. I also have a spawning mop I can use. I've read up a little bit on this but I would like to hear some first hand information from people who actually were successful in spawning them.
1. How did you condition the male and female?
2. What event triggered them to spawn (for example a 20% waterchange using Deionized Water to simulate rainfall, or maybe a temperature change)
3. How did you deal with the fry
4. What equipment do I need (I have a spare 10 gallon tank with a sponge filter available)
5. Any specific water parameters (TDS, gH, kH, pH) that I need to achieve?
