spider species

how about mole crickets? they look weird, but fascinating.

i love mole crickets! yes, strange, i do know but i do! i once had a fascination with spiders, although that quickly died out. and those camel backs, dont' bother me cuz they don't live long enough to do so. in miami, (my hometown woot 305!) there are these huge yellow, green, red, and black grasshoppers that are about 3-4 inches longl. those creeped me out, but this past summer i had no real problem with them.

i-hate-crickets,there is just something about them........i found this mother spider with her eggs on my bed of all places, not sure what kind she is though.

oh my goodness gracious !!!!!I would freak out if i found that in my bed !! My son was near the dryer one day and a wolf spider came in from outside I guess .. we live in the woods on the lake -- this thing was huge - we all freaked out hewouldnt move but we finally caught it and put it in a container and my son took it to school for show and tell lol...
I like to look at them from a distance but I am scared to death of spiders, snakes and such **keepin an eye out around the house** hehe We are really lucky as we haven't seen any snakes around the house this year - a few deer and possums but thats about it lol

don't go to the southwest, then... they have the largest spiders in the united states down there.... desert tarantulas.... as wide around as a big coaster!

I plan on just stayin right here where I am for now lol If I ever came across a spider as big as a coaster I would have a heart attack right then and there.

I have enjoyed looking at the spiders that everyone is posting though - and I don't believe I have ever seen one " as big as a coaster " so if anyone has taken a pic of one of them I'd like to see it lol

do you want me to get a pic of s goliath bird eating spider, not just the world's largest spider, but also the world's largest terrestrial invertebrate?http://www.gedcasserley.saddleworth.net/assets/images/Ged-spider02.jpg

Those durn crickets are the one thing in the entire world that really creep me out bigtime. I'm not afraid of much--what's to fear?--except those things. They are ugly, disgusting, creepy, nasty, ad infinitum. Cleaned out a friend's laundry room one time--it was FULL of them. I was jazzin for hours after than, jumping at everything. Ah, the things we do for friends. :sim:
