So im thinking of adding a sponge filter to my 35gallon, would this filter be good?

and what air pump should i use to run it? A 30 gallon air pump?:)
PS: the sponge filter is just to get rid of some free swimming snail poop and something along those lines, if possible can i run a weaker sponge filter instead of the 30gallon rated?

Why are you adding the sponge filter for? Just curious since it will take up some space in your tank. And yes you can go with a 30 or 40 gallon air pump. You can always use a valve to reduce the airflow to the sponge filter if its to high.

to get rid of tiny swimming poop ^^ lol its doesnt have to be that strong, just enough to trap and clear the water
