I've noticed a few spots on my Oscar's front fins. I'm attaching a pic. Not a great pic, but you can see 2 of the spots on his left fin and 1 on his right. It appears to be more of a blood vessel thing than a parasite. Any other albino owners ever seen this? Looks like it would be hard to detect in a non albino. Any ideas, his brother has 1 on his right fin. He has 5 on his right and 3 on his left.

I'm not sure what it is but would think that if the fish appears healthy otherwise, just keep a close eye on it.

OzarkJoe, I'm, kind of shocked at your response to Travelinman, not everyone likes everything everyone's got, so I think your toss of opinion might be a little distasteful. There are a great many of Oscar lovers on this forum and may find your post a bit offensive to say the least.

Someone might not like everything you've got, but I'm sure not many are going to rush and say you should flush the one's they don't like or even go as far as call them wretched.

I understand this is your opinion, but it's a bit strong for this in my opinion.....

Hans, you're a trip!!

It is a free country so he's free to say what he wants, but Ozark Joe you can bring your fish over to play anytime. If the Osacrs don't tear them to shreads, I'm sure my Arowana would be happy to jump in and play. :p

I see Oriongirl didn't think it was funny either. :OT:

Back to the original problem. Anyone seen this. It's really hard to see in the pic, but they are there. They look like overgrown ich but it's not ich. Fish are fine and he's doing great right now.

I can't see it in the pics, and I've never kept Albino's, but if your fish are not showing any other signs of stress, I would just keep an eye on things (I'm sure you already figured that) If you can get better pics, it might help. But keep us posted either way. BTW I have always steered clear of albinos because I didn't like the way they look in the LFS. I have never seen an adult Albino but that is one good looking oscar. Good luck

I think I have seen this before on an albino red tiger oscar I had back in 94'. The spot looked white, but like a dull white like the color of the fin itself and appeared like a little nodule or bump. My oscar had only one on his fin and never had any health problems. He was about 4 years old until I had to get rid of him (went to college). I never knew what this was either. I'm guessing it was a wound that healed into that little bump.
