Spotted Box Fish: removal problems

Where are you located? I'm in New Jersey and know plenty of people that would take them. You could do a google search for your local reef forums (try your county and then your state if there are no local forums).

im in eastern PA, ill take em, im always open for more salt water stuff.

Ya I've kind of tried, but haven't found much in the way of an active reef club around here. It's tough with no LFS (of any quality) because that is where I am used to finding those kinds of groups. There is a 'private' store (by appointment only) in Tahoe, and I've been speaking with the owner, and he make be interested in trading, so that might be a solution.

I would love to send them to people who want them, but I've never shipped an animal anywhere so that makes me a bit hesitant. I live in Nevada btw.

Anyway, I did not intend to completely derail the OP's thread, was just trying to post a similar situation I have. If anyone wants to talk to me about it, just send me a PM.

Slightly off topic, but on the clowfish topic.

I rescued a couple of clowns (false perc's) from my wife's co-workers tank. He had let it go totally fallow (along with a coral beauty and a sailfin tang). I have a 75g tank, with a ton of super healthy GBTA's and was hoping they would have enough space to work things out with my current clowns (also false perc's). Not so. Even though they are all fairly small still, my clowns tried to murder them both. I had to pull them out and put them in the refugium (not ideal).

I don't know anyone else in the area with an aquarium to take them, and they were going to die. My wife loves those clownfish and she is really bothered by the whole ordeal. It's tough. I just started a major dual tank build and so I should be able to split them up into their own tanks eventually.

Btw, the coral beauty has become a great addition, the sailfin tang vanished. There one day (healthy as could be) gone the next, not a sign of him anywhere.

I guess my solution is, get a new tank! hah.

Where are you located? I'm assuming Nevada as you mentioned Carson City. I'm in New Jersey and know plenty of people that would take them. You can post them in the free section of the classifieds here. You could also check out: http://www.vegasreefers.com/, and you'll probably find someone local to get the clowns and gbta's off your hands. You can also try www.reefcentral.com, you'll probably find someone local there as well.

Vegas is about 8 hours from Reno. Sacramento California is only about 2, but that's still pretty harsh.

I appreciate the suggestions though!
