Guys, I will be installing another canister on my 120g, planted, community tank. I have one intake in the far left corner and the spray bar is maybe 3/4" below water level and it goes straight. I would probably install the second one on the opposite site. I have two heaters as well and the intakes would be within 2-3" of heaters.

The question is how do I install the second bar? Let it go straight accross as the first one - the currents would crash. Let it go down at 35degrees or so. The concern is the flow of food as well. I am trying to feed towards the front more, as the back is more planted.

Any considerations or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Perhaps put the other one on the other side closer to the bottom to make a big circular current? It seems like it might keep the bottom cleaner. Then again, maybe someone else with big tanks might have a lot better insight.

Never used two spray bars but with the intake in one corner, I would try to get a circular current (looking from the top) so that the flow encourages particulates into the intake.
Maybe one bar at the end spraying down the length of the tank (under the surface as it sounds yours is already) and one on the back of the tank spraying toward the front, perpendicular to the first, so looking from the top they would look like the letter "L". With the intake in the corner of the "L". The two currents would collide, creating a 45 degree current away from the intake line.
Or, tip the "L" so that one of the bars runs down the front corner of the tank and the flow is directed down the front glass. This may be unsightly if you don't like the bar right up front.
Hopefully someone who has used two will advise.

I use 2 spray bars. I have one at the end and the other in the middle. I have the spray bars angled so the water will be in a figure 8 motion.

Our spray bars are aimed to the front glass horizontally - slightly downward. Some canisters may let you set-up a vertical spray bar.

Outlet flow pressure may be the most important concern... Too little and your canister will not filter properly, too much and your fish will hate you..
