Over the last week my green starburst polyp has only opened one day.

The only other coral is a zoo frag. I added it about 3 weeks ago. It hadn't been flurishing as much as I would have liked, but since I moved it earlier this week it is looking good.

Everything else in the tank looks good - my Tridacna crocea is doing great, its color looks good and it is opening everyday. All of the water tests are good. The nitrogen cycle are straight zeros. Ph 8.3, specific gravity is 1.25, temp 79.

I haven't moved anything in the tank since adding the frag.

Obviously something changed that is bothering it, I don't know what I am missing. It had been opening daily for the 3 months or so that I have had it.

Any ideas??? Thanks.

i assume the sg is 1.025?
have you really not changed anything?
lights? (what lights were they under at the store? the zoas that is that you said also werent dinog too well. since you have a crocea i am assuming you have MH so you might be burning them possibly)
when did you last do a water change?
what is you Ca, ALK, and PO4?
how much flow is on them? GSP need a pretty good amount of flow and when i sarted sps, i redirected a powerhead form them to the center and the frag i had died.
how often are you doing water changes?
what fish do you have in the tank?
ect
ect
ect

PS: if everything really does check out, i wouldnt worry about it, form my experience, GSP seem to have periodes where they seem pissed and not long later do great with no obvious change.

Yeah, sg is 1.025

As for lighting, I have power compacts. Its a 29g tank, with 192watts (96watts 10k, 96watts actinic).

The zoo seems to be doing better since I moved it, its open and has better color. Hasn't reproduced yet though.

Calcium is 400, PO4 is .2.

As for water flow it is pretty much right under the return of an Emperor 280 - so it has 280 gph pretty much right on it. The return from my canister (240 gph) is on the other side of the tank shooting across the length of the tank so there is some current from that direction on it. Not real strong by the time it gets to the coral though.

No fish in the tank.

I did a water change 2 or 3 days ago, about 10%. Normally only do them every 2 or 3 weeks, the tank never reads anything.

On the bright side it was (and has been since) partially open since I got home this evening. Its not as full as it was before but hopefully this is a good sign.

Appreciate the help
