starfish laying eggs, pooping??? pic!!!

Hi all,
There is something long coming out of my starfish....almost looks like intestines or something like. Anybody have an idea what this is and if it is normal???

Never seen anything like it. Looks like a tapeworm.

Do fish and inverts get tapeworm. I had to pull a tapeworm out of my cat yrs. ago. I had no idea what it was so put it in a tupperware bowl and brought it to the vet. He said that he didn't know that they got that big. I can't remember how long it was but I do know it was measured by the foot!!!

thats what im wondering....tapeworm in fish??? But i suppose its possible since the starfish does have a complete digestive system. anybody else ever heared of this???

When I bought my starfish, I remember reading that poor water quality (among other things) can cause starfish to expell their guts and die. How's he doing today?

well......the thing has detached and the starfish is laying back on the sand bed....however i havn't seen it move since this morning. i guess i have to wait and see.
