starfish with spotted toby puffer

No way can you keep the lobster, the puffer will eat it. (I just got that lobster the other day, BTW.) That''s the kind of food you should be feeding to your puffer. The star--he may or many not pick on. Depends on the puffer.

I have that lobster and that puffer. My puffer hasn't bothered that lobster on bit since the lobster is actually larger than the puffer.

I would say that the problem with the lobster is that he never comes out during the day time. He hides in the rocks all day and maybe comes out a little at night.

My cleaner shrimp are much more active and come out a lot more. The puffer doesn't both them either.

My puffer is about 2-3 inches long. I keep him really well fed so he doesn't go after my inverts.

The only inverts he's ever gone after in my tank (that I've seen) are nassarius snails (he likes to eat their antennas if they stick out of the sand) and some small brittle stars that I put in the tank. He leaves my other snails, hermits, and shrimp alone.

Now my candy hogfish is constantly going after my inverts and the other fish. He's a big meanie and makes the puffer seem like an angel.

I just dont want to end up buying the lobster and have it as food, but boy howdy do i love the way the lobster looks

Its kind of a 50/50 chance with tobys sometimes they will kill all shrimp, hermits and snails and sometimes they won't touch any of them. Its just one of those things that you have to decide if you want to chance it. He could also leave them alone for a while and then one day decide he wants to try a bite!

I'm sorry, for some reason I didn't notice the puffer was a toby. go ahead & get the lobster, I just put one in with 2 tobies. I got ripped--paid $35 for that lobster. Mine don't even eat my pepp shrimps.
