its not really pounds it depends on the ammont of micro fauna in the tank and if the star will eat food given to it.

Microfauna is a general term refering to things that are living on the live rock in the tank. MF is things like crabs, snails, feather dusters, brittles etc etc...Mf that is found on live rock usully consume things like algae and fish waste...

some stars will accept dried algae, mussles, clams, scallops, also some marine shrimp pellets as well, most will accept cockle the best though
