I was wanting to get the biocube 14 gallon all in one marine tank from petco i would only want to put clown fish star fish and sea horse in there what would i need to house them ie coral live sand test kits and such just want to make perfect enviroment before i add them oh and how long to cycle tank thanks for anyones help on this:help:

Do some reading on seahorses. They do MUCH better in a species tank especially without other fish.
Do some reading on the various filtration and cycling methods . before you even start.
get a checklist on various basic equipmeht and definitely a GOOd test kit. Stocking a marine tank is one of the most difficult parts
read up on the various species and their requirements. Get a clear idea of what you can keep in that size tank before you even start.

The length of time to cycle just depends. The first salt tank I set up was a 12 gallon nano cube. I cycled it by using a raw shrimp from the supermarket in a nylon and floated it in the tank. That cycle went quick. However, cycle times do vary and my experience was not typical. It usually takes longer.

A 14 gallon tank is not appropriate for what stock you are considering. Even the clown alone is pushing it a bit size wise. Definitely would not want one of the larger clowns in there such as a maroon or tomato. As garyfla mentioned, SHs are best suited for a species tank where food competion will not be an issue. Clowns can be food hogs and can also be nippy. Many starfish are not easy to keep and many will starve in a 14 gallon tank. Unless you are restricted to this size tank, I would recommend looking into a larger tank and consider the flexibility of a non-all in one cube.
