Hey guys,
How do you sterilize a tank after a suspicion of having some weird bacteria / parasite? I want to make sure that everything live in the tank is completely destroyed before I start a new life cycle there
Thanks

Well if you have no fish in the tank, fill it with water then put a very small amount of bleach in it. It will kill everything in the tank. Leave it for a day or two, then rinse it out VERY RIGOUROUSLY.

If there is any bleach left in the tank, it will probably kill your fish.

Also, you could leave the tank with the bleach in it for a few weeks and the bleach will evaporarte out of the water, but that takes longer.:D

If it's a parasite that depends on/atacks fishes, letting the tank sit with no fish for a month or two will make them die off.

There are no fish in the tank anymore (unfortunately they died yesterday). As for whether the parasites depend on fish or not....I have no idea.....

That's why I was thinking about stirilizing it

you can just wash everything with fresh water and let it dry. after it will dry you can start everything over again, nothing will servive after that. also i wanted to tell you that when you buy fish, don't get it right away, but wait for a week and right before you get it get somebody to feed the fish to see if it has healthy apetite. make sure that fish has nothing strange on his eyes or body. healthy fish are spotless. i've been practicing it since the first time i lost all my fish. it has been some time since i had problems with fish, even though i got few new onse. this will save you money and headaches of loosing fish.
