go with a prochilodus, maybe severums, tin foils. other semi-aggressive fish. If the planted route is for you then go for discus and a ton of tetras. Otherwise go for a nice african colony.

personally i would get a mix of the 3 main cichlid types (malawi,tangyanikan and central american) with catfish (decorated syno), bristle nose plecs and eels, i will check with my LFS the name of the eel as its awsome!!

I don't think New World and rift lake cichlids have compatible water condition needs.

To my understanding, you shouldn't even mix Malawi and Tangyanikan Cichlids.

well I've decided, Africans it is tank's been up and running for a month now, and I'm up to 12 cichlids and 1 clown plec, thanks all for the suggestions will post pix soon
