Okay, I have my 37 gallon cycling right now and I have some fish in a temporary tank while the bigger one is getting ready. So, I want to know what else I should get for my tank. I'm like a toddler, bright colors are my favorite so I'm looking to get some kind of bright fish. I have 4 zebra danios and a clown pleco currently and I would like to get another pleco and maybe an angelfish and something else but if whether that would be overstocked or not is beyond me. I think plecos would be easier to keep than an angelfish so if I can only get one or the other I'd probably get a pleco. Any thoughts or suggestions?

A 37 gal is certainly tall enough for angels but the floorspace doesn't leave room for much else.

I'd increase the danio school to about 8.

Pleco's may end up squabbling over territory but I'm not sure if that's an issue for this size tank.

Otherwise there are tons of different directions you could go...loaches, corys, dwarf cichlids, gouramis...what else interests you?

Well, I like flat- looking fish like gouramis and angels, but I'd like a school of something bright like tetras or something maybe...

8 danios
1 clown pleco
10 cardinal tetras
7 julii or panda cories
2 dwarf gourami's(mabye 1 they tend to fight over territories)

there ya go tell what ya think

also a good idea jpappy! a honey gouramie pair would look sweet! although i must say if you like personality go for the dwarf gourami mine is the funniest fish i own after my cories!

I was actually at the LFS this morning, and I plan to go back and buy a 37g glass tank myself. I was just going to ask some of the very same questions as the OP, but it would be easier to just jump in here, I hope that is okay. :)

I was also considering an angelfish, but read that they will eventually eat smaller tetras? Is that true? I really do want a school of tetras. In fact, I'd like two if possible. Maybe the neon tetras, and x-ray tetras? Would that work, or is it bad to have two types of schooling fish? I'll also have an albino bn pleco in the tank. And I was considering a dwarf gourami or two as well, would just one be happy alone? Would he get along with the angel? And lastly, would there be room for another few fish, such as platies or mollies?

That's all for this thread, I'll start another one with more questions another day, I don't want to hog it. Thank you for letting me jump in, DarkAngel.
