I have a 55g which has been set up for about 2 weeks now. Currently we have 3 dwarf sunset coral platies, 2 red tail dalmatian mollies, one oto catfish, and one african dwarf frog. Plant wise I have 3 cabomba plants (all doing well after only a week and beginning to bloom!), and 2 Anacharis. We are stocking fish slowly however I'm getting conflicting information on how many I should add at a time per week. Could someone please give me some info on how many I can add at a time?
Here is what my stocking plan is atm:
3 dwarf sunset coral platies
2 Balloon Belly Mollies
1 Oto cat fish
5 red tailed Dalmatian mollies
3 Creamsicle Mollies
3 Panda or spotted Cory Cat Fish
1 pink striped ramshorn snail
1 purple stripped ramshorn snail
1 blue ramshorn snail
1 Asolene spixi
3 Dwarf African Frogs
Plants:
3 cabomba
2 Anacharis
2 small low growing plants for the front of the tank
So my questions is am I over stocking? If not, approx how many inches of play do I have left (some of these fish I haven't been able to get a straight answer to what size they will grow to be)?
Also, does anyone have a good suggestion for a very short growing plant to put at the front of my tank? I would really like something that will stay right at the floor of the tank but I can deal with some height. Also needs to be fairly easy to care for as I am still learning about plants and how to properly care for them.
Thanks in advance for suggestions and opinions!
