I will be stocking a new 72 gal tanks with in a week or so. This is what I was thinking. I love the look of schooling fish and bright colors ( kids LOL ) and was thinking of this.

Seven Platies Asst
Seven Danions or Glo fish(same fish but one glows) dont kill me it for the kids
Seven Rummynose Tetra
Seven Serpea Tetras
Two Guapore Cory cats
Two Elegans Cory cats

Any one?
:D

I would cut the platies, since I don't like livebearers, and add to the schools of corys--they ought to be in schools of 5-6 each. So either go with one type of cory, or get more corys.

I back ur idea bought outtin the planties, come on if ur gunna go tropical go wit fish that do not look like gold fish(don't meen to make fun, its just what i think thats all) GO WIT CORYS!!! u'll fall in love wit them lol

I agree with u keepin the serpeas in groups! they are really cool looking fish but are know to cause trouble, if they anything like tigers bein in a group will stop aggression towards other fish

Try goin wit a group 5-6 of all the same corys they will like that better

I think that with: (if u do up the amount of corys and not put in the planties)

Seven Danions or Glo fish
Seven Rummynose Tetra
Seven Serpea Tetras
6 corys

u would be unstocked so look around some sites and find some more fish ya like!

Cut out the Platies and get some more Cories. Maybe get some Three-Striped Cories. Their very ornate and easy to keep. I wish I could get Guapore Cories, but I live in a small town and theres only one petstore, and the petstore can't get that species in.

Hope your tank works out great!

I saw some really awesome corys at a lfs, they were orange laser corys. This is a natural coloration of a fish similar to the bronze cory. But they do have a lot of color. They are pretty rare, but these I saw were so healthy and cute. But they were on hold for someone :(
