Hi all,

My 46 gallon aquarium is almost cycled, so now I'm in the tough part of choosing fish! So many to choose from...I should have gotten a bigger tank lol :)

I've been struggling with compatibility of my fish...most of it related to the cichlids I want in my community tank :) I used to have fish tanks several years ago, and I have an idea of what I'd like, but I'm wanting the fish to be happy! Here is what I'd like to do...

1 angelfish
10 tetras (i.e., glowlights?)
1m/1f kribs
1m/2f platy's (or swordtails?)
4 cories

Now, my first issue is the kribs. I've had them in a community tank with tetras/cories before in breeding time without difficulty (in a 29 gallon), and it seems to be a crapshoot as to whether there'll be any huge problems with them. Some people have the kribs kill/hurt the other fish, others don't...they are just such an interesting fish! One of my favorites!

Will I see any problems between the kribs and the angels? (again, this could depend almost entirely on the personality of the fish...)

If I'm ok to go this route, which should i add first, and which should I add last? My feeling is to add the Kribs last to let everyone else get adjusted.

My other option is going with a pair or two of Apisto's...I really want my kribs, but would this be just as entertaining as having one pair of kribs? I honestly don't care about breeding, so that's not a factor (if I could have the kribs and not have them breed I'd be happy!)

Thanks for any insight you can provide!

David

dont put kribs with corydoras because if the kribs breed they will attack the corydoras, so skip the kridbs.

if you want livebearers, stick with platies, swordtails and mollies are not very good long term tankmates for angelfish. males in both species can get a little nippy as they age.

you should get
1 angel
12 red eye tetras (or other larger species of tetra)
6 corydoras
2m/ 4fm platies
a pearl gourami or dwarf gourami

Yeah, I was a little concerned about the cory's and the kribs too...

Guess I will skip the kribs...I don't want to have to take anything back to the LFS because it's angry at the rest of the aquarium :P It seems like a 50:50 chance (or more) with the kribs!
