Store-bought Driftwood

I bought two pieces of African Driftwood from my LFS 2 1/2 weeks ago and each has been soaking in a separate 5 gallon bucket with declorinated water. I continue to change the water daily. I also have boiled each piece of driftwood for about 10 minutes on the stove.

But, after all this, these two pieces still leech toxins (the water looks like tea) almost like they did when I first soaked them in water. They have been in water now since I got them.

Any guess what should be my next course of action so I can put these pieces in my tank? Thanks in advance.

The tea stain look is normal and not toxic. many fish will actually prefer the condition as it is closer to their natural habitat. It would be fine to put them in your tank, and you will notice your water getting dark now and again, but it fades with water changes, and will go away with time.
 
I have had my piece for about a month now and the water is always a tan colour. It gets lighter with time, but I miss the days when it wa just a shade darker. The fish like it, I'd just go a head and not worry. I read that the African Butterfly actually prefers the tannins, as do most. :)
 
Thanks for the insight everyone. The guy at the lfs may have said tannins, not toxins, or I just misunderstood him. I'll be putting these pieces in the tank tonight after work!
 
Ya maybee tannins not toxins
i think its called a brackish water tank
certain fish are from this type of
water the color will fade with water
changes it did for me the main thing
is that the pieces sink and dont float ...
