Strangest Fish??

What are some of the strangest fish people have ver owned? A couple that I have had were: a flatfish that was in stock at my LFS; a goby that I specially ordered in (it was really expensive and died after a year!; And I have considered buying a "freshwater" puffer after seeing a friends. I've had a few others that are a bit more odd, but they are fairly common...

Those things just look nasty. I cringe every time I see one. I'd be too afraid they'd tear their tear ducts on something.

they have those at our petsmart and half of them always have their "bubbles" filled with pus.

i have six flounders.

Currently I'm crazy about these two:

Saddled Bichir (Polypterus endlicheri)

Ornate Bichir (Polypterus ornatipinnis)

Knife fish

Edit: gobies and bichirs like mentioned are pretty weird. Same with the black ghost knife, senses through electrical vibration in the water.

Archer fish are wicked too.

You are right on dot. They are both prehistoric fish. I especially love those jagged fins/spines running along the back to the end of the tail. They look awesome when erect.

The strangest fish? Thats all in the eyes of the beholder.

i would say this little fellow is the strangest fish because it has the ability to travel over land and can breath out of the water!

Edit: it also has the guts to take on Piranha's!
