Well as many of you had read, I was recently battling a bout of bloat in my 125. Unfortunately, I wound up losing 2 Afras
, but it seems that the rest of the tank is OK now. It only seemed to affect the Afras, and the others who were showing some signs were finally out swimming with the other fish and ate as well. During that time, I had 2 females holding. I'm not sure if one spit in the tank or she was one of the casualties, but I was able to remove the other mom Wednesday and strip her, a first for me:woot:! It was a little hairy as she's about 2 inches, but I was able to hold her gently and use a toothpick to open her mouth. I was rewarded with 12 fry, but 1 was DOA. So I now have a total of 16 Afra fry growing, including a previous brood of 5 about 6 weeks ago. I may try and keep one or two to replace the ones I lost, but I'm going to see how things progress with the remaining fish first.
