Stupid golden gourami

this morning when i woke up, i found out my golden gourami killed my balloon ram! the gourami kept pecking the ram all this week. i tried keeping it seperately but when i let it in the ram tank again it started pecking the ram again! Help?

It's hit/miss with gourami. Some are timid and docile, while others are real jerks and won't tolerate tank mates similar in size/shape. I've dealt with both for sure!

Balloon fish are bred to have all their internal organs smushed together, not good long term. Don't buy any more balloon fish, they don't live very long.

What size is your tank? Gold gouramis grow to 5 or 6 inches. In a smaller tank they may feel crowded & be aggressive. I would keep them in at least a 3ft, or better 4ft tank.
