Substrate Depth Calculator

Decided to go with the flourite for my substrate- I gues 3-4" should do it for a planted tank. I have a 150g, 60" X 24". I would like to figure out how much flourite I need to buy...any good links to a calculator or formula? I've read to get 1 lb for each gallon. Seems to be a lot of $ just for the substrate.- Thanks- Jamie

You will need 15 bags. Big tanks can require more $$. One bag per 10 gallons..

Jamie, if you are going to use the 'brown' rather than the 'red' flourite, you might consider mixing the flourite with Profile/Turface.
It's very similar to flourite, but lighter and much less costly. I mixed 40# of it with 30# of flourite in my 55 and am very happy with it. So are the plants.
