Substrate that looks like flourite?

i was in a store today and they had flourite in a tank. i loved the look of it. i dont want a heavily planted tank... thinking about discus with some plants. is it ok to use without being planted?
is there anything that looks similar for maybe a little cheaper that isnt specifically for plants?

Estes natural walnut. It's about as close as it gets, I mix it with flourite as do many other folks around here. It belnds almost perfectly with flourite.
If you can still find red flint somewhaer it looks better but the last I knew it was no longer available.
