I have two yellow fin blue damsels and they both lost 95% of there color last night... !!! ???
I did an immediate chem check and everything was fine? I turned everything off thinking they might have been stressed for some reason and left them alone to see if they would get better.
And they did, There color is fully restored but i'm still really really confused. Is this something that happens often? and if it isn't what would cause this?
Some things I recently changed that I think could be a culpret are I added a new piece of rock a few days ago, and yesterday I added a bigger overflow box that I fixed a crack on. The live rock I added was a very nice piece of rock with a great amount of good stuff on it. I don't think it was the rock. But the overflow was from a previous FW tank that had a huge crack. I cleaned it, super glued it, cleaned it again, and caulked over the super glue. Could this be the problem.
I also did a regular water change yesterday, however I used tap water and not r/o. I've done this before and have not had any problems... I used a water conditioner to remove heavy metals etc...
I am very confused about this rapid change, and I need help....
Keep in mind they lost almost all their color in one night less than 12 hours, and regained their color in about 1 hour???
