I want something for my 18 inches tall 29 gallon tank with 3wpg and pressurized co2. I like Vals but dont they grow too tall? Im thinking maybe a nice tall Java fern mother plant. Any ideas for something that wont overgrow that quickly and cover the surface of my tank?

what about a(n) amazon sword, the vals would look nice! some ludwiga would be cool! what about some water sprite or wisteria??

blyxa auberti, crypt retrospiralis, plant on a stick? be it java fern or anubias.

lol i like that, but i conjures up images of a giant anubias on a dowel.

but he does have a point some tall drift wood in the back with some type of moss or anubias would look amazing

basically i think any good stem plant would be good, you will have to trim them eventually but really that just means more plants

I too like stem plants as back ground plant.

bk has some foot tall anubias lanceolata that would work. unless he already sold them. toss them on some wood or rock and you will have a killer background plant that you wont have to trim or worry about. really no other plant out there will work other then a already tall slow growing plant. stems vals or what ever will need to be trimmed/cut down replanted.
