I have 1 male and 1 female sunset platies in my 20g tank. The female is always swimming like any other fish does. The male is always hiding behind rocks, in rocks, etc. Does this mean something or is it normal? Everything else about it is normal (eating, sleeping). It also did have a few white spots last week but I ruled out that it was ick.

Fish are just as individual as humans, so it could just be a shy one. Most likely another fish or multiple fish are picking on it or taking runs at it, making it feel less secure. Have you noticed any other fish being agressive towards it? Also, the spots could have made it feel ill and seclusive.
