My tank (10 gallon)
-2 Black Mollies (1 male, 1 female)
-Velvet Swordtail (male)
-Silver Lyretail Molly (female)
-Plesco----- whatever it's called "suckerfish, algae eater" (male I think)

-I just went out today and bought a Cremesicle Lyretail Molly (female) to add to the tank. When I put her in, the Silver Molly went crazy attacking all of the fish in the tank. Except for the sucker fish, he's always hiding under the rock, sucking away. But the Silver Molly chased after the new Molly, and both the black ones. I put her in a seperate tank and she is still going crazy. No signs at all of any kind of infection or disease of any kind. All the other fish are doing fine in the tank right now and are welcoming the Cremesicle Molly very warm-heartedly. I really like the Silver Molly, why would she go crazy like that?

I would bet it is just the change of fish in the tank. I have a male silvertyre molly that chased after my two bosameni rainbows when I first put them in. He calmed down, and now he is happy. Although once in a while he chases around another male silvertyre molly (that is much larger), as well as the other molly (i think it is a female, makes sense huh... I would put her back and let it go for a while, If my guy ever gets too crazy i tap him with my finger which gives him something else to think about, Not hard mind you.

-I put her back in and she was alright last night. Both the lyretails nip at eachothers fins now and the silver one chases the cremesicle around sometimes but they seem to be doing okay now. I was just afraid of traumatizing the new fish at first.

Mollys can be nippy little buggers...Keep atleast 2 females per male ( i think 3 is perferable) , this prevents the males from constantly bothering one female. You may want to consider ditching the pleco...They create far more waste then they clean up and will outgrow that tank in no time. The constant source of ammonia is going to wreak havoc on your tank and it will become extremely unstable. I kept a leopard pleco that hit 17 inches in 2 years. He was a beautiful specimin but hard to justify keeping a hundred gallon tank for.

-Wow, that's pretty big. I saw a Golden Pleco at Petsmart last night, the tag said they only grow to about 5.5" is this correct? And if so would one of those be okay? Or do they have the same waste problem?

Thanks,
