Both the new peppered cory I got today seems to have swim bladder problems. Neither of them can stay flat on the bottom. One ends up at the top when stationary and the other is on a tilt. Odd thing is that they spawned earlier and spawned again not too long ago. But most of the eggs look unfertilized.
perhaps recovery time?
I know my betta's seemed like they were lifeless untill about 30 min or so after the deed.
Could just also be resting, cories are funny that way
cories are a wierd bunch. they'll dig and dig like no other and then all of a sudden.......stop.......then start up again after a while. they'll rest in about any position, on any surface. Mine will swim to the top and sometimes school with other fish. I havn't seen any "floating to the top" though so I can't say for sure what that is. I think swim bladder disease would keep them from staying down, not just floating up. are you sure it's not his way of just getting air, the lazy way? Kyle
Funny thing is that it only happens to the peppered cories, the albinos and bronze cories are fine. Right now at the moment, one of the peppered cory is sleeping vertically, and the other is sleeping belly up (not dead). Other cories are either lying flat normally or swimming. Also when the peppered cories swim around, they swim normal.
I haven't fed them yet, and don't plan on doing till Monday.
