I bought a sword plant on Friday. I planted it Saturday, and it looked beautiful. There were a few small brownish see thru parts on the leaves, but nothing unsightly (and really not all that noticable, I only noticed because I was rinsing thoroughly to get any snails off.) A few of the spots have gotten a little bigger, should I just let them be? (again, they're nothing unsightly)

Anyway. I noticed this morning that there are a few chunks missing off some of the leaves! I'm wondering if one of my fish it eating the plant, or if it's dying? I assume someone's eating it (which is fine, the plant still looks nice, and if the fish want to eat it that's their right, but if it's dying I don't want to leave it in the tank, kwim?).

Any thoughts?

TIA!

Oh, here's a picture of my redone tank, I'm dang proud of it, if I do say so myself! (ignore the nylons in the corner filled w/ old gravel :D)

Could be the tiger barbs, but more likely the pleco.
The tank looks nice. What is the size and amount of lighting?

Len ~ thanks!! I'm not too sure I like the way the little cave is set up (hard to see in the pic), but my rainbow shark and the tiger barbs swim in and out of it, so I guess they like it well enough! I put the driftwood in the tank mainly for the looks of it, but partly because I know plecos like to munch on it... my guy hasn't touched it (that I've seen anyways). My tank is 29 gallons.

It's the darndest thing about the lighting. I've had the same light/hood since I bought the tank (start up complete kit) 4 years ago. I bought the plants for the first time on Friday night, and wouldn't you know it - the bulb blew out while I was at work!!! I was going to replace just the bulb with something stronger (the kit was a 20 watt bulb). But considering the cost of a bulb was $20ish, and my current hood hinge was broken on one side and the glass was cracked, I bought a whole new all-in-one hood with another 20 watt bulb for $40. I'm going to see how my plants do with this 20 watt bulb, and maybe upgrade the bulb in a few months...
