Weird Experiences..... especially with my swordtail female
I have question about the temperament of Swordtails.
I once had a 55 gallon community tank, and I bought a nice looking female swordtail (she was pure orange)
.
She wasn't bothering anything except for my platies (especially my big female platy!), she would constantly harass my female platy.
She was so weird because she would hang out with my keyholes (especially my males) and sort of display to them, like she was seducing them
, i'm not joking at all!
What I am wondering is, are swordtails as peaceful as alot of people say that they are, or are they a little aggressive?
One time, I bought some small discus and put them in there. What happened was, my keyholes (who were there WAY before the discus), sort of cornered the discus so they wouldn't come out of the corner, and the female swordtail helped the keyholes do it too!
, I am seriously not making this up.
I ended up having babies from the platy female, kept some, gave some to my friend, and I also gave him the aggressive female swordtail.
Last Year Different community, same 55 gallon tank:
I bought some discus first, and grew them out, then I bought some keyholes, grew them out, and then there was no aggression between the two.
