a few days ago I posted about an upside down catfish I had bought at walmart and which I suspected was something completely different. Well I have an update the fish I have is a synodontis acanthomias now the problem is I can't really find much info on the little guy. Here's where you guys come in LOL.
Anyone out there who knows anything about this?..I would really appreciate any help at all,
thanks in advance

thanks for the link but I already checked it and all I was able to find out was that there was not a common name for it and I was able to see a thumbnail of it.

I have seen them in a few books. What did you want to know about them. I may be able to look it up tomorrow for you. Most of them have similar care. You probably just need to find out if it is riverine or a lake catfish.

Thank you all for the great help.

I couldn't have found out half of this info. on my own but, now the big issue is what the heck do I do with this little cutie who will soon become a nasty monster?

I have him(?) in a 33g but will be moving him to the 55g in a few weeks when it is cycled. The other fish in the 33g are just a mix of all my little fish such as cherry barbs, golden barbs and even a few little guppies. So far there have been no problems but I"m worried the peace won't last when he starts growing.

Any suggestions?

Everything will probally be ok, they really don't eat other fish until they get bigger. They grow fairly slowly as well so it would be several years before yours was big. Some don't even eat other fish then. But if you do start missing fish after the night you might want to think about moving him. They really are not the monsters they make them out to be just with other synos. or maybe another catfish. Plus you have to go by the individual. Mine keep their cool even when being attacked by cichlids, after a few minutes the cichlids learn that these cats are deceptively smart at avoiding being bit.
