looks like my angelfish is bitten on its side, no exposed flesh.

the scales are torn in a diameter that points to my synodontis eupterus...

i put some sinking algae in and that's what prompted the incident

this could probably have been avoided if i only put the sinking food in at night time, right ?

Your synodontis will probably eat your angel unless you remove it. Or at the very least harass it to death.

It's obviously interested in eating the angels the synodontis is a predatory fish, as with most catfish.

Really? I keep a small collection of Synodontis cats, and none will even eat a guppy. It all depends on which species you have, few of the group are piscivorous. S. eupterus in not. Many are quite like likely to squabble with their own kind, but unless they spook other fish with their nocturnal activity most are completely harmless.

Hmm... you're right, however they are pretty territorial and have been known to take dislike to particular fish hobbyist have owned and harass them to death.
